ACS Awarded with The 2007 Top Smart Card Reader Supplier in China

ACS Hong Kong, 03 Jun 2008 – Advanced Card Systems Ltd. (HONG KONG STOCK Exchange: 8210, www.acs.com.hk), Asia Pacific’s number one supplier in PC-linked smart card readers industry (Source: research report issued by Frost & Sullivan), is proud to announce that it is awarded with “The 2007 Top Smart Card Reader Supplier in China” in the 10th International Smart Card and RFID Technology Exhibition and Purchase, China 2008 (SCPC 2008).
ACS stood out in the competition for the SMART prize, the highest accolade in the Chinese smart card industry, which is sponsored jointly by China Information Industry Chamber of Commerce and China Software Industry Association and supervised by the State Leading Group Office of Golden Cards Projects Coordination, and was honored with “The Top Smart Card Reader Provider 2007”. Gilbert Leung, ACS’ sales director, received this prize on behalf of the company.
The SMART prize representing was established to publicize the outstanding achievements and to build a role model in the Chinese smart card industry so as to facilitate its fast development. The competitors should experience such strict appraising steps as application, purchaser voting, on-line voting and expert commenting. ACS’ winning of the prize fully proves its excellent reputation, first class product quality and perfect after-sales service.
After the receipt of the prize, Mr. Leung stated in the interview by the reporter of the sponsor that ACS had been devoted to the smart card reader industry for 13 years from 1995 and successfully popularized its products in various fields such as banking, transportation and telecommunication. When asked as an international company, what ACS was depended upon to occupy the mainland market, Mr. Leung replied, “Our leading cards are our super products and advanced and successful project experience. The world’s first NFC card reader compliant to CCID standard was born in ACS last year and has been successfully applied in a VoIP phone project using the Octopus Card in Hong Kong. We hope we can carry out more projects in the mainland market in the future. ”
