ACS Wins Silver Award for e-PLUS Tap to Pay in 2014 IVIE Awards

HONG KONG, 30 Oct, 2014 - Advanced Card Systems Ltd. IVIE Awards was organized by ACT CANADA, an international non-profit association serving different stakeholders of the smart card industry. IVIE Awards recognizes “innovation in payments and secure identity products using secure chip technologies.” This year, ACS won a Silver Award for International Payments Benefiting Merchants for e-PLUS Tap to Pay (e-PLUS).

e- PLUS is a stored value contactless smart card that embodies the all-in-one card concept. It is a nationwide loyalty and e-payment system provided to the largest shopping mall and retail operator in the Philippines. It is used to accept micropayments in retail establishments and select transport systems, and provide perks for cardholders. Given the system’s reach, it is unparalleled in its potential to bring merchants the benefits of contactless payment technology.

e-PLUS enables contactless payment and rewards redemption, so operations become more efficient. The system also helps merchants generate data on consumer spending. Since participating merchants are all accessible to consumers through one card, the merchants are all exposed to a wider market. Finally, partner merchants are also able to accept cashless payments without spending for their own technology by piggybacking on the e-PLUS.
